Hilton Hawaii spas launch Generation Y treatments
Kohala Sports Club & Spa and Mandara Spa open up their doors to keiki (children) and teens

Honolulu, Hawaii (July 10, 2006) – “A gentle full-body exfoliation using an uplifting tropical scrub followed with an application of our signature Coco-Mango body lotion.”
Does this sound like an appealing treatment to rejuvenate a harried career woman? Or is it a relaxing respite for a sports enthusiast? Think again. This is one of the offerings listed in the Kohala Sports Club & Spa’s new menu of treatments specifically designed for keiki (children) and teens.

Kohala Sports Club & Spa, located at Hilton Waikoloa Village® on Hawaii’s Big Island, has just launched its “Summer at the Spa for Keiki & Teens.” In addition to the Coco-Mango Tango Scrub described above, the treatments include the Ti-Leaf Cooling Wrap, recommended for sunburn relief; Surfer Back, Neck and Shoulder Massage and Island Aromatherapy. Targeting the Y Generation, treatments start from just $65. Skin care and hair design options include Youthful Make-up Design; Beads and Braids and French Braids. Special Summer Spa Packages include an array of treatments packaged together for the ultimate spa day. A menu of fun fitness classes round out the line-up offered to guests aged six to 15 years old. The “Summer at the Spa” program will be offered from now through Labor Day. Reservations are recommended and can be booked by calling the Kohala Sports Club & Spa at 808-886-2828 or via e-mail at info@kohalaspa.com.

A hip youth program called the YSPA MENU is the latest addition to the offerings at Mandara Spa, located at Hilton Hawaiian Village® Beach Resort & Spa on Oahu. Treatments include a Heavenly Massage, to massage away school blues; Surfers’ Scrub, an exfoliating treatment after a day of activities; Fabulous Fruity Facial and Acne Attack Facial. Treatments start from $60 and also include hair and manicure options. The YSPA MENU offers spa services for teens 16 years or older; salon services are offered to all age groups. Reservations at Mandara Spa can be made by calling 808-945-7721 or via e-mail at hawaii@mandaraspa.com.
“The interest in kids and teen spa programs has really grown in recent years,” said Lora Gallagher, regional director of marketing, Hilton Hawaii. “Not only do mom and dad need a relaxing rejuvenation while they are in Hawaii, but the kids want to be a part of that experience as well,” said Gallagher. Gallagher, a mother herself, said that “mother and daughter” time is very precious even on vacation, and the new programs afford this special bonding time.
Both the Kohala Sports Club & Spa and Mandara Spa offer extensive menus for adults as well. Menus can be viewed at www.kohalaspa.com and www.mandaraspa.com.
